About AVI Bursaries 2020
The AVI Bursary Programme is dedicated to young individuals who are interested in the working ways of the company. Not only does this bursary provide financial assistance towards hard-working students, it also guarantees selected candidates with the opportunity to experience vacation work as well as Graduate Development Programmes courtesy of the AVI Bursary Programme. Throughout the bursary, grantees will receive one-of-a-kind mentorship by AVI’s Learning and Development department. Once they have been mentored, their vacation work will take place in AVI’s Spitz and Kurt Geiger stores. In collaboration with StudyTrust, AVI is able to provide plentiful of opportunities not just for incoming candidates of this bursary programme, but also to its successful alumnus as well. AVI Bursary Requirements
Unlike most other bursary programmes, the AVI Bursary has two different sets of requirements for Commerce and Engineering Degree students, as well as Engineering and Food Technology Diploma students. While these two sets of requirements differ from each other, one thing remains the same. All of these following requirements must be met, depending on which course you are applying for. Degree’s in Commerce and Engineering

  • Must be fully recognized as official South African citizens
  • Priority will be given to Grade 12 students and matriculants
  • For Commerce Undergraduate Students:
    • Must be a student at the University of Johannesburg, Pretoria University, the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Wits University
    • Studying in the areas of Marketing and Finance
    • Has an NSC with a score of 60% for Mathematics and English First Additional Language
    • Or, a Matric Exemption with at least a C (Higher Grade) score for Maths and English.
  • For Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Students
    • Must be a student at the University of Johannesburg, Pretoria University, the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Wits University
    • Has an NSC with a score of 60% for Mathematics, Physical Science, and English First Additional Language
    • Or, a Matric Exemption with at least a C (Higher Grade) score for Maths, Science, and English.

Diploma’s in Engineering and Food Technology

  • Must be fully recognized as official South African citizens
  • Priority will be given to Grade 12 students and matriculants.
  • Must be a student at the University of Johannesburg, Vaal University of Technology, the Durban University of Technology, and Tshwane University of Technology.
  • Planning to pursue a National Diploma/B.Tech degree in any of these fields:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Food Technology
  • Has an NSC with a minimum 50% score for Mathematics, Physical Science, and English First Additional Language
  • Or a Matric Exemption with at least a “D” (Higher Grade) score for Maths, Science, and English.

How to Apply AVI Bursary 2020
Applicants who wish to apply for the AVI Bursary programme may do so through the StudyTrust’s online Leaply platform. Before that, applicants may want to visit the AVI website just to double check if the bursary scheme is available at the time of application. Applicants are highly encouraged to apply through the StudyTrust online platform for a more efficient way of applications. Don’t forget to indicate that you are applying for an AVI Bursary programme in the relevant space that has been provided to you. However, if online applications are not your thing, there are other several ways of applications as well.
