About Hulamin Bursaries 2020-2021
Hulamin is offering a limited number of bursary schemes specifically for young, talented South African individuals who are pursuing their higher education. Grantees of the Hulamin Bursary will be awarded with a generous sum of funding which will provide coverage for items such as registration expenses, tuition costs, expenses for accommodation and meals, study materials, and a stipend provided on a yearly basis. Additionally, second-year grantees will also be eligible enough for a functioning notepad computer, provided that they allocate their vacation time to participate in obligatory work sessions in the Hulamin company (minimum one vacation period). Selected recipients of the bursary will required to meet the committee from time to time to check on the bursar’s progress and academic milestones throughout the course of their studies.
Hulamin Bursary Requirements
The Hulamin Bursary is only available for students who are able to meet the eligibility criteria that has been standardized by the committee. Each of these items below will determine whether you will get accepted by the programme or not. Failure to comply with all of the qualifications that have been published will cause disadvantageous consequences towards the overall results of your application procedure. Therefore, it is extremely recommended that you take your time to note down all of these criteria below.
The Hulamin Bursary Requirements are as follows:
- Officially recognized as citizens of South Africa
- Originating from a previously disadvantaged community
- Currently living in the area of Pietermaritzburg or any surrounding areas
- For students who are currently in Grade 12:
- Has at least a B Symbol Score for Mathematics (Higher Grade) English (for Engineering), and Physical Science (Higher Grade)
- Has at least a B Symbol Score for English (for Accounting) and Accountancy
- Candidates must plan on pursuing a first university degree
- Must already fulfill the eligibility criteria of their respective universities and their desired study courses.
