Having it already established since July 4, 1934, Afrisam Pty. Ltd (or previously known as AngloVaal Portland Cement Company Limited) is one of the oldest construction-based companies in South Africa. At the same time, it is well-known as a company with special consideration on the People, Planet, and Performance values, which drives its business operations as well as serving all of its stakeholders.
As people become an integral part of Afrisam’s businesses, it is of Afrisam’s importances to develop and nurture young South African student talents. After all, in the recent 5 years, Afrisam has already been awarded “Top Employer” certification from the Top Employer Institute in South Africa and has participated in Level 2 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) to provide wider career opportunities for potential talents.
Having planned to further develop its strong-based human resources, Afrisam has recently held a bursary programme to finance South African citizens who take their undergraduate degree in any of Afrisam’s partner universities. Bursary requirements along with the applying processes and contact numbers are explained below.
Afrisam Bursary Programme Requirements
Other than fulfilling general requirements, for instance being South African citizens, Afrisam bursary’s future recipients should have already been accepted in any of the partner universities with the following Bachelor programs and current year statuses:
- Bsc Eng (Electrical Engineering) – 1st & 3rd year
- Bsc Eng (Mechanical Engineering) – 1st, 2nd, & 3rd year
- Bsc Eng (Chemical Engineering) – 3rd year
- BSO Eng (Mining) – 3rd Year
- Bsc Eng (Civil Engineering) – 2nd year
- Bsc Hons (Geology)- 2nd year
- BSO Environmental Science – 3rd year
- BSO Computer Science / BCom information degree – 2nd year
It is imperative that bursary awardees are expected to finish their studies on time, except for Bsc Eng in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, where study extensions are made possible. Also, please note that disadvantaged South Africans will be given the first priority.
