This bursary is intended for highly-passionate students who are keen on the Mining Industry. The purpose of this bursary is to provide financial support for well-deserving individuals so that they do not have to bare the burden of monetary problems as they pursue their degrees.
Canyon Coal believes that people within the local society has a lot of potential, especially within the Mining Industry. However, it is understandable that this line of career requires a lot of financial support. Therefore, don’t be suprised if this bursary is mainly being offered to students within the Mining Industry fields. This bursary programme caters to a list of available degrees that are in line with the company’s vision and mission, such as:
- BSc Electrical Engineering
- BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Mine Survey
- BSc Geology
- BSc Analytical Chemistry
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Environmental Management.
The bursaries will be granted based on how well the candidates have excelled academically. Awardees will be entitled to a list of financial benefits, which includes full coverage of their tuition expenses, accommodation fees, and allowances for school materials. The Canyon Coal Bursary Requirements
Applying for the Canyon Coal Bursary programme has its own certain conditions as well. The Canyon Coal Bursary programme requirements include:
- Citizens or naturalized citizens of South Africa
- Candidates who are admitted into an established tertiary institution based in South Africa (the institution must be registered and accredited by the CHE)
- Candidates must have an academic track record of an average 65% in all of their degree classes
- Advantage will be given to individuals who are previously disadvantaged in the Springs region, requires financial support, people with disabilities, and women.

Once you have your application forms filled out, please attach the form with all of these required documents:
- A valid copy of your ID
- A valid copy of your Matric examination results
- Valid copies of your academic results in your tertiary studies
- Valid copies of proof of admission for 2020 university registration and its fee statements as well.

Make sure that everything is complete and in order, as incomplete applications will be disregarded by the bursary committee.
Regarding the announcements, only selected candidates will be notified by the committee within 30 days past the application closing date. If you are notified by the committee within those 30 days, we regret to inform you that your applications have not passed the bursary programme.
