As far as its name goes, Career Wise is an independent organisation partnered with several South African-based companies and NGOs to help young South Africans to develop their career prospects. However, since its first establishment on 1999, this Johannesburg owner-based company has developed its main specialisation in any business operations related to bursary financing.

In doing so, Career Wise, along with its partners, work together to disburse customizable financial supports through various bursary schemes for South African’s brightest youths to further advance their university degree. Career Wise also provides leadership development programmes and additional training sections for those who are funded by Career Wise.

Career Wise Bursary Requirements and Schemes
Career Wise’s bursary programme is generally open for historically disadvantaged and lowly-earning South African citizens. Further requirements to Career Wise’s bursary programmes’ requests are noted as follows:

  • Be at least a 3rd Year university student of any Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) study programmes in Accounting, Economics, or Administration of any of South African’s public institutions for the year of 2018
  • Possess solid backgrounds of the chosen academic programme as well as decent character records
  • Have an income ranging from R123 000 – R300 000 per year
  • Not receive additional NSFAS before or during the bursary period

To ensure future applicants meet those above-mentioned requirements, it is important for Career Wise to obtain these following certified copies for every aspiring candidate:

  • ID Card
  • Academic transcripts and certificates since Grade 12
  • Financial income proofs and affidavit statements (if any)
  • Letter from the assigned university that stated an acceptance of enrollment

Candidates who have been shortlisted by Career Wise’s bursary program will get their tuition fees, accommodation costs, meal costs, and book allowances fully funded. At the end of their studies, they have to work for Career Wise, else, they have to repay Career Wise according to what they have received during their studies along with interest and administrative fees as necessary.

How to Apply for Career Wise’s Bursary Programme
Career Wise’s bursary applications can be done online through Career Wise’s main online portal by clicking “Register Now”. After being redirected to the main personal data forms, enter “F2018” (without quotation marks) in the input box located just below the “Please provide us with promo code” field. Click “Register” to proceed to the next online application process along with uploading certified copies as noted on the previous points.
