Recently, this Vanderbijlpark-headquartered company has been African&#8217;s largest steel producer with an approximately 4.8 million tonnes of ready-for-sale steel products. On top of all, ArcelorMittal supplies more than 61% of South African-used steel and exports the rest to the sub-Saharan region and worldwide as well.<\/p>\n<p>ArcelorMittal&#8217;s business successes don&#8217;t only stop in its steel producing. Rather, it also has an on-going international best practice that guides its entire business activities, including additional empowering activities, such as the bursary programme as discussed in this article.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ArcelorMittal&#8217;s Bursary Programme&#8217;s Schemes and Overviews on Its Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nArcelorMittal awards bursaries to full-time students who have previously completed their Grade 12 result with an overall result that is equal or higher than their university&#8217;s requirements. These scholars should also attend ArcelorMittal&#8217;s university partners and study in one of these following study fields:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Chemical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Metallurgical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Information Technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In other words, ArcelorMittal&#8217;s bursary schemes are only available for the engineering and technician stream as noted in its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcelormittalsa.com\/Peopleamp;Careers\/Bursaries\/EngineeringBursaries.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Engineering Bursaries&#8217; main page<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcelormittalsa.com\/Peopleamp;Careers\/Bursaries\/TechnicianBursaries.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Technician Bursaries&#8217; main page<\/a>. ArcelorMittal&#8217;s engineering and technician bursary recipients will receive aids in these following academic- and non-academic-based components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic-based: Full or partial tuition fees depending on each university&#8217;s cost, book allowances, a scientific calculator, and a personal computer for each recipient.<\/li>\n<li>Non-academic-based: Accommodation costs including the meal costs and mentor supports from the ETA Young Professional Forum to share and promote engineering study fields in different disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the sake of each bursary recipient&#8217;s personal and professional development, ArcelorMittal will visit their recipients twice a year in each of the university for these following purposes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate and discuss each bursary recipient&#8217;s academic progress and follow up with the university&#8217;s semester results for each student.<\/li>\n<li>Decide upon the bursary&#8217;s continuities for the concurring semester or year (whether it should be reinstated, canceled, or suspended, depending on each bursary recipient&#8217;s performance).<\/li>\n<li>Examine each bursary recipient&#8217;s well-being in general.<\/li>\n<li>Invite second- and third-year bursary students to undertake 6-months vacation work training at the end of the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidate Engineer programme is available for bursary recipients who have graduated, in which they can be appointed as full-time professional engineers. These recipients will also be required to take an additional 24-month training programme to enhance their work experiences as well as theoretical grounding.<\/p><!--CusAdsVi2-->\n<p>Other than having a Grade 12 certificate, applicants wishing to undertake ArcelorMittal&#8217;s bursary programme scheme should be possessing a minimum 70% average of Grade 11&#8217;s Mathematics and Physical Sciences subjects and a minimum 60% average of Grade 12&#8217;s entire subjects. Applicants should also keep in mind that these requirements are subject to each university&#8217;s criteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply for ArcelorMittal&#8217;s Bursary Programme<\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants can either choose to apply by the online or semi-online system. If applicants choose to apply to the online system, they should first and foremost visit <a href=\"https:\/\/arcelormittal.jonti2.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">ArcelorMittal&#8217;s main portal<\/a> and create an account there by clicking on the &#8220;Register&#8221; or &#8220;Create CV&#8221; text.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, Engineering Bursaries applicants who are currently undertaking BEng degree can apply through the semi-online system by writing an email to recruitmentsa@arcelormittal.com with a subject line containing any phrases about the engineering bursary application. In that email, applicants should also attach their CV and academic transcripts.<\/p>\n<p>ArcelorMittal&#8217;s bursary team will then contact successful applicants and invite them to attend the interview session at any time during April&#8217;s school holidays before they are appointed as ArcelorMittal&#8217;s bursary recipient.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ArcelorMittal&#8217;s Bursary Programme&#8217;s Opening and Closing Dates on 2020<\/strong><br \/>\nArcelorMittal gives out bursary aid every year, including on 2020, with each different opening and closing deadline.
