SACTWU is well known for their ethical practices, especially in terms of their employees wages. For a long period of years, SACTWU has strong bargaining agreements with more than 150 000 of their employees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About SACTWU (Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union) Bursaries 2020-2021<\/strong><br \/>\nSACTWU is offering bursary schemes towards individuals who would like to be financially supported as they continue their studies in any tertiary institution. Considered to be South Africa&#8217;s largest trade union bursary fund, the SACTWU Bursary is available for candidates who would like to pursue an education in any higher education establishment (universities and technikons included).<\/p>\n<p>Started in 1975, the bursary&#8217;s initial mission is to provide mutual assistance towards trade union members, as well as their respective children. By allocating millions of rands towards this initiative, thousands of young South African students are given the opportunity to chase their dreams without the stress from their financial burdens.<\/p>\n<p>The SACTWU Bursary offers generous financial benefits towards their grantees. However, there are a couple of notes that need to be taken account to before you sign up for this programme:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The bursary scheme is non-repayable<\/li>\n<li>All funding will be directly transferred to the awardee&#8217;s respective institution<\/li>\n<li>The awardee&#8217;s institution must be recognized by the National Department of Education<\/li>\n<li>The bursary programme does not provide coverage for 100% of the awardee&#8217;s tuition fees. While the bursary does pay a maximum of 75% of their studies (up to ZAR 35 000), awardees must pay the remaining balance of their studies<\/li>\n<li>The closing date of the applications ends on each February for their first semester, and on each August for their second semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SACTWU (Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union) Bursary Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nThe SACTWU Bursary is only available towards a list of selected people. Eligible candidates that may apply for this programmes includes SACTWU members, their spouses, their children (including legally adopted children), and employees of SACTWU as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply SACTWU (Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union) Bursary 2020-2021<\/strong><br \/>\nTo apply for the SACTWU Bursary, all candidates are required to download the <a href=\"https:\/\/vacancyupdate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/SACTWU-Bursary-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Official Application Form<\/a>. Once you have your application form ready, there are a couple of key notes that need to be paid attention as you fill in the form:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All information that is asked of the application form must be filled with accurate and complete information<\/li>\n<li>Should you required any assistance with your application form, you may ask for help, free of charge, directly from the SACTWU Offices<\/li>\n<li>All documentation that is sent in must be valid and have to be sent in as well<\/li>\n<li>Announcements will be made from either phone calls, e-mail address (including student e-mail)<\/li>\n<li>Unfortunately, this bursary does not accommodate FET\/TVET College students at the moment<\/li>\n<li>If the member is the biological parent, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>A valid copy of the candidate&#8217;s birth certificate, directly issued by the Department of Home Affairs (must mention the name of parent&#8217;s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the member is a legal guardian, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>A legitimate letter of guardianship issued by the Department of Social Development\/Court Order<\/li>\n<li>A legitimate marriage certificate, as well as both the candidate&#8217;s and spouse&#8217;s Identity Documents<\/li>\n<li>A legitimate death certificate of the candidate&#8217;s biological parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the member is registering for their respective spouse, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>The candidate&#8217;s valid marriage certificate as well as the spouses&#8217;s Identity Documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Members are highly required to complete the checklist that is available on Page 4, and have all of the other documents sent in<\/li>\n<li>Members who are recognized as child dependents, and are selected for the SACTWU Bursary, must oblige to the 50 hours of community service. Furthermore, they must send in proof of their community service directly to the SACTWU Bursary Department. If candidates do not partake in community service, they will automatically fail the bursary. If candidates do more than 50 hours of community service, they will receive an additional 5% of the bursary award<\/li>\n<li>The SACTWU Bursary does not cover 100% of the candidates tuition expenses<\/li>\n<li>A valid copy of the Bursary Fund rules and obligations are attached to the application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are the documents that must be prepared by the candidates:<\/p><!--CusAdsVi2-->\n<ul>\n<li>Valid copy of the candidate&#8217;s Identity Document<\/li>\n<li>Valid copy of the member&#8217;s Identity Document<\/li>\n<li>ID size photograph of the candidate<\/li>\n<li>Most recent valid copy of the member&#8217;s paycheck<\/li>\n<li>Valid copy of the account statement issued by the institution<\/li>\n<li>Valid copy of the candidate&#8217;s matriculation certificate, issued during the candidate&#8217;s freshman year of study (1st year)<\/li>\n<li>Valid copy of the candidate&#8217;s academic transcript originating from all of their previous years of study<\/li>\n<li>If the member is the biological parent, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>A valid copy of the candidate&#8217;s birth certificate, directly issued by the Department of Home Affairs (must mention the name of parent&#8217;s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the member is a legal guardian, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>A legitimate letter of guardianship issued by the Department of Social Development\/Court Order<\/li>\n<li>A legitimate marriage certificate, as well as both the candidate&#8217;s and spouse&#8217;s Identity Documents<\/li>\n<li>A legitimate death certificate of the candidate&#8217;s biological parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the member is registering for their respective spouse, they must send in this document below:\n<ul>\n<li>The candidate&#8217;s valid marriage certificate as well as the spouses&#8217;s Identity Documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Valid affidavit of the member&#8217;s employment re-status (should the member be retrenched)<\/li>\n<li>Valid affidavit of the candidate&#8217;s employment status (if taking up part-time job &#8211; must attach paycheck as well)<\/li>\n<li>Valid application form to participate in SASU (only allowed for child dependents)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once your application dossier is ready, you can have it submitted to any of these addresses below:<\/p>\n<p>Postal Carriage<br \/>\nSactwu Bursary Department<br \/>\nP.O.
