The PwC Chartered Accountants Bursary is only available for students who are able to meet the eligibility criteria that has been standardized beforehand. Each of these items below plays a crucial role in determining whether you will be qualified enough for the programme. Therefore, it is highly advisable that all applicants take note of all of these criteria beforehand. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the application procedure.

The PwC Chartered Accountants Bursary Requirements are as follows:

  • Has plans in continuing their studies at an accredited university where they will pursue their career as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa
  • Must be pursuing a degree that is recognized by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
  • For first-year students: must attain an average aggregate score of a minimum 65% for their University courses
  • For second-year students: must attain an average aggregate score of a minimum 60% for their University courses
  • For third and fourth-year students: must maintain consistent scores for their courses and be eligible for a Honours
  • Maintain an impressive academic track records whilst being active in their campus’ extracurricular activities
  • Holds proven fluency in both spoken and written English
  • Has core values such as determination, leadership, keen eyes for details, and interpersonal capabilities.

Bursary Requirements for Grade 12:

  • Keen on pursuing a qualification in Chartered Accountancy
  • Has plans on pursuing a full-time degree in any SAICA-recognized institution
  • Obligated to write for a Matric Exemption and University Acceptance
  • Must have obtained at least a Level 6 score for the key subjects in Mathematis and English (either as a 1st or 2nd language), as well as maintain an overall average score of 70%
  • Active in their campus’ extracurricular activities
  • Has proven fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Has core values such as determination, leadership, keen eyes for details, and interpersonal capabilities.
