About SMIT Salvage Bursaries 2020
SMIT Amandla Marine is currently extending their arms to provide wonderful bursaries for South African students who have not been awarded a bursary beforehand. These bursaries are specifically allocated to students who are currently pursuing their further education in any accredited University or Universities of Technology. Applicants who are interested in this programme must be attaining their education in any either of these following courses below:

  • Maritime Studies
  • Oceanography
  • Climatology
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Marine Engineering

Selected recipients of the bursary programme must agree to the terms and conditions, which includes having to partake in a possible Contractual Employment obligation. The bursary will help in covering several student-related funds, which mainly involves paying for tuition expenses. Any other expenses such as study materials will have to be reviewed directly by SMIT Andla Marine.

SMIT Salvage Bursary Requirements
The SMIT Salvage Bursary is available towards anybody who is able to represent their good names as students, the good name of their respective institutions, as well as SMIT Salvage itself. Therefore, in order to seek out individuals who are capable and well-deserving enough of this opportunity, interested individuals will be required to fulfill the mandatory eligibility criteria that has been set out. The SMIT Salve Bursary Requirements are as follows:

  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
  • Has a Grade 12 qualification with at least a Level 5/60% score aggregate for the key subjects of Science, English, and Mathematics
  • Has not been awarded a bursary programme beforehand
  • Must be a student within the Electrical Engineering, Climatology, or Oceanography department
  • Able to provide proof of acceptance at CPUT for Marine Engineering
  • Able to provide proof of acceptance at CPUT or DUT for Maritime Economics.

How to Apply SMIT Salvage Bursary 2020
Applications for the SMIT Salvage Bursary are conducted by sending in your dossiers to their provided e-mail address. In addition to your application form itself, applicants are highly required to have several important documents attached to their dossiers as well, such as:

  • A brief letter of motivation
  • An elaborate Curriculum Vitae (CV), which also contains contact information of your references
  • A valid Matric Certificate or result slips from Grade 12
  • Or, your latest academic transcript if you are a University student
  • A letter of acceptance into an accredited Tertiary Institution into any of these courses below:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Climatology
    • Oceanography

If you have yet to receive any word from the committee, we regret to inform you that you have not made it towards the rest of the application procedure.
