About SKF – Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursaries 2020-2021
The SKF Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursaries is a programme provided to South African female students who are pursuing their studies in Mechanical Engineering. The busrary programme is offered to students who are curently in their second year of their undergraduate studies, or are pursuing a diploma instead. Based in the area of Gauteng, this academic bursary can be renewed on a yearly basis, provided you are able to maintain your wondrous academic capabilities.

This bursary programme was initiated as a means to promote the importance of education within females in South Africa. By enriching educational experiences, students will be able to contribute greatly to the nation’s economic growth upon successful graduation of their studies. On top of that, this bursary puts great emphasis on the need for more Black females to take action in their country, which may prove necessary in the future years to come.

Selected recipients of the SKF Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursaries will be entitled to a generous sum of financial funding that will help cover several student-related expenses, such as:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition costs
  • Prescribed study materials
  • Accommodation costs
  • Cash allowance for the awardee’s personal expenses (provided on monthly basis.)

SKF – Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursary Requirements
To register for the SKG Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursary, all incoming candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria that has been standardized by the committee. Each of these items will determine whether you are the right fit for the busrary programme. Therefore, in order to guarantee success, make sure that you have all of these items below met:

  • Candidates must be officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa (proven with a legitimate Identity Document number)
  • Candidates must be female
  • Candidates must be Black (African, India, or Coloured)
  • Candidates must show proof that they require financial aid
  • Candidates must not be receiving any bursaries from other external institutions
  • Candidates must have finished the freshman year (first year) of their studies (provided that their end-of-year results are above average)
  • Candidates must be willing to partake in an interview as well as a psychometric assessment.

Please take note that the Golelo Trust holds all rights to take away an awardee’s bursary should they not fulfill their academic results and maintain their high scores during their studies.

How to Apply SKF – Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursary 2020-2021
Applications for the SKF Golelo Trust Mechanical Engineering Bursary are conducted online. To have your applications processed, you will need to download the Official Application Form beforehand. All application forms must be filled in using only a BLACK pen. Furthermore, the attached documents in your application dossier by be legalized by a recognized Commissioner of Oaths. Should your application dossier have any missing documents, your applications will automatically be disregarded by the committee. Please be kindly informed that all selected applicants of the Golelo Trust Bursary must oblige to the terms and conditions that have been set in the formal contract.
