About Amazon Bursaries 2020
Amazon is on the search for individuals who are bursting with talent and potential to be a part of their team. In cooperation with StudyTrust, the company has established the Amazon Recruitment Bursary in 2018. The programme, an initiative conducted by the Amazon Development Centre in South Africa, is dedicated to well-deserving youths originating from underprivileged groups. Besides the financial benefits that will be awarded, successful grantees of the Amazon Bursary will be entitled to bursary scheme renewals (on the condition they maintain an astound academic track record), as well as a spot in the Amazon Graduate Development Programme located in the city of Cape Town.

The Amazon Bursary Programme is given out to individuals who will be pursuing their first or second year of university studies. The degree programmes that are catered to by this bursary scheme includes:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Information Technology.

Additionally, just like with any bursary scheme, the Amazon Bursary Programme gives out several perks that can be used to support their awardees during their educational pursuits. Below are the financial perks that will be awarded to successful grantees of the Amazon Bursary:

  • Fully-paid tuition expenses
  • Free study materials
  • A new personal computer
  • Expenses for accommodation and meals
  • Stipend for transportation.

Amazon Bursary Requirements
Before applicants can register for the Amazon Bursary programme, candidates must be able to meet all of these eligibility criteria below. For your information, each of these items will play as a determining factor in whether you will be accepted by the bursary programme or not. Therefore, please kindly have all of these criteria met.

The Amazon Bursary Requirements are:

  • Official recognized as a legal citizen of South Africa
  • Educational qualification:
    • A Grade 12 student with a 75% aggregate score for Mathematics and Physical Science
    • A First Year student with a 70% average aggregate score
  • Depending on how many years they have received their bursary, candidates must be available to work for the company during the allotted time period
  • Must be available for vacation work in Amazon.

How to Apply Amazon Bursary 2020
After making sure that you are eligible for the Amazon Bursary programme, it’s time for the application procedure! First off, double check whether the opportunity is available at the time of application. You can do this by taking a look at the official Amazon South Africa website. Once that’s done, you can immediately start your application process through the StudyTrust online Leaply platform. The application period is from 01 April to 30 September. With this in mind, make sure you submit your applications before 30 September. If you do not meet the closing date, we regret to inform you that your application will not be accepted by the bursary committee.
