Palabora Offering Bursary for South African University Students

About Palabora
Palabora is South African’s only establishment that specializes in the craft of refined copper. Founded in 1956, Palabora has gone through several key changes, especially during the years of 1960-1980s, just when the company has successfully produced a mass amount of 2,7 million tons of copper thanks to their open-pit copper mine and they newly built processing plants. On average, Palabora manufactures an estimated amount of 60,000 tonnes of refined copper on a yearly basis, living up to Palabora’s as the nation’s largest refined copper producer.

With a workforce of approximately 2200 employees, the company typically conducts its work operations in block cave copper mines and smelter complexes. Palabora produces a wide range of products for the domestic market and the international markets as well. From zirconium chemicals to nickel sulphate, and also recognizable minerals such as gold, silver, and platinum, it’s no wonder why this company has been garnering an impressive revenue.
