On top of that, priority will be offered to students who are in need of financial assistance as well. Granted on a yearly basis, the CDH Bursaries accepts applications until September 1st of each year.

Applicants for the CDH Bursary must meet the qualifications that have been standardized by the committee. The CDH Bursary Requirements are as follows:
- Must be officially recognized as a South African citizen
- Must be fully admitted as a student of an accredited university in South Africa, especially for an undergraduate or postgraduate level LLB degree
- Must be able to fill in the bursary application form completely and send in all of the important documentation
- Applicants will be considered based on their academic merit and astounding excellence in other major fields
- Provide their most recent academic transcripts with valid progress when ask
- Partake one of the many law programmes held by Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr
- Must be available for an agreement to a right of first refusal in terms of any articles of clerkship.

All application dossiers must be complete. Any incomplete application dossiers will automatically be disregarded by the bursary committee.
