The Nelson Mandela Children Fund started off from the vision of former President Mandela. Driven by the need to change the societal conditions for both children and the general youth population, President Mandela first began initiating the Fund by donating a portion of his salary during his time in the office. This eventually led to the establishment of the Fund, which officially gained recognition in the year 1995. Over the past couple of years, the Nelson Mandela Children Fund has successfully garnered a huge sum of more than ZAR 36 million that is then used to utilize a total of 780 projects, with each project being covered with a total expense of at least ZAR 40 000. Because of these efforts, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund has been able to fully support the rights and happiness of the continent’s children, are slowly, but steadily, releasing them from their suffering.

About Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursaries 2020-2021
The Nelson Mandela Children Fund is offering bursaries for students who are pursuing either short courses, or post graduate nurse training diplomas. These bursaries are offered to students who are attaining their education in any accredited university in South Africa. The Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursaries are offered on the basis of supporting post-graduate nursing students who have a passion in the world of paediatric nursing. If you are a nurse specializing in any of the courses below, you are more than welcome to give this opportunity a try:

Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursary Requirements
The Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursary has an eligibility criteria that must be met by all candidates in order to be accepted into the programme. In general, the bursary will offer priority towards candidates coming from all types of demographics, especially individuals who currently have physical disabilities. Furthermore, candidates must also send in valid copies of their Curriculum Vitaes, available certification, and 3 work references, which will all be then subject to the evaluation of a third party.

How to Apply Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursary 2020-2021
After meeting the requirements, you are now all set to start your applications for the Nelson Mandela Children Fund Bursary. First of all, candidates are obliged to read the Bursary Agreement and also the Administrative Requirements before you begin with your online applications. Should you prefer hard copies instead, you may ask for one upon your request. Candidates must also take into account of the fact that they hold an obligation to come back and work for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Joburg for a total duration of the entire time the candidate finished their studies.

All bursary applications will be conducted online directly on the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Website. Please be kindly informed that there will be no further correspondence until the committee has selected their candidates for a future interview. If you have yet to hear back from the committee within a total period of two weeks after your application submission, we regret to inform you that your application has been unsuccessful. Furthermore, the bursary committee holds all rights to not award any candidates at all. Bursary applicants who have been selected for the interview and are granted the bursaries must also take into account that they are to provide proof of admission into an accredited academic university.

Additional information, the undergraduate bursary will only provide financial assistance for second-year academic studies and forward (must be able to finish first year of studies). This is also applied for post-graduate nursing studies.
