Nelson Mandela Children Fund Profile
The Nelson Mandela Children Fund started off from the vision of former President Mandela. Driven by the need to change the societal conditions for both children and the general youth population, President Mandela first began initiating the Fund by donating a portion of his salary during his time in the office. This eventually led to the establishment of the Fund, which officially gained recognition in the year 1995. Over the past couple of years, the Nelson Mandela Children Fund has successfully garnered a huge sum of more than ZAR 36 million that is then used to utilize a total of 780 projects, with each project being covered with a total expense of at least ZAR 40 000. Because of these efforts, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund has been able to fully support the rights and happiness of the continent’s children, are slowly, but steadily, releasing them from their suffering.
